CUT FROM THE FRAMES
OLD MASTERS STOLEN
SEVERAL ROBBERIES REPORTED.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.— COPTRIGEJ.)
(AUSTRALIAN • NEW ZEALAND CABLS ASSOCIATION.)
(Received 7th August, 9 a.m.) LONDON, 6th August. Burglars entered Kendalls Hall, Hertfordshire, and cut out of its frame and carried off a valuable painting by Guidoreni, an Italian master of the seventeenth century. Another painting was cut from its frame, but was left, apparently because the robbers found the canvas too stiff to roll upl This is the second theft of "old masters" in the district within a fortnight, and similar burglaries elsewhere indicate that another expert gang is operating.
