SPEECH
PRESTIGE NOT ENHANCED.
(UNITED TRESS ASSOCIATION. —COPTMGHr.)
{AUSTRALIAN - XEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)
(Received 6th August, 1 p.m.)
PARIS, sth August. The "Temps" says: "The policy indicated by Mr. Baldwin's' speech does not seem to enhance the British Cabinet's prestige. In a few days the Cabinet is going to consider the position again. The initiative does not rest with France or Belgium now. It is for England to reply to the French and Belgian Notes."
