TO-DAY'S BUSINESS
One of the first items of procedure in the House of Representatives to-day will be the moving of a motion by the Prime Minister in respect to the death of President Harding, whose memory was honoured on Friday afternoon by an adjournment as soon as the new 6of his death was received. It is expected that the leaders of the other parties in th« House will speak to the motion, and that after it has been carried, a brief adjournment will be made before the ordinary business of the day is proceeded with. _ The principal measure for discussion i s the War Pensions Amendment Bill, which was introduced in the House last Wednesday by the Minister of Defence (Sir R, Heaton Rhodes). This Bill will come up for its second reading, and will probably entail a good deal of discussion. The Companies Amendment Bill and the Native Land Claims Adjustment Bill will each come' up for second reading, and there are several Bills set down for committal, including the Land and Income Tax Amendment. The House, has ahead of it a very full programme, and the sitting is likely to be a long one.
