DUNEDIN, 4th August, A week's continuous fine weather left the grounds in splendid order for the Rugby matches to-day, and the -weather conditions were excellent. The club matches have concluded, University A finishing with an unbeaten record. Kaikorai and Alhambra played off for second place, Alhambra winning by 7 points to 3.
Pirates struck true form, and almost succeeded in lowering University A's colours in the finest club game of the season. Pirates played the students at their own game, giving a fast, open display, and were leading by two points a minute before time. Then Hiuty goaled ■ from" a ■ free" kick, and placed
University one point ahead, the scores being: University A, 18 points; Pirates, 17.
University B 22, defeated Dunedin 6; Zingari 14, Southern 4; Union 6, Taieri Rovei-3 0.
