TEACHERS ABROAD
ENTERTAINED IN LONDON.

LONDON, 31st July. The Empire teachers visiting England under the auspices of the Overseas Education League were entertained at dinner at the Trbcadero. Major Fred. Uly said he was giad to welcome Australian representatives for the first time. He added that New Zealand always had been considerate and enthusiastic for the work of the league. It was between New" Zealand and Canada that the first interchange of teachers within the Empire had occurred.
Sir Henry Newbold, the guest of the evening, emphasised the point that the only way to overcome the distances between the Dominions and Britain was' by a liberal use of imagination.
