LONDON, 16th July. The "Athletic News" doubts if much success would have resulted from the Rugby League Clubs'" efforts to secure colonial players even if the embargo had not been reimposed, for the minimum terms demanded by Sydnoy players exceeded the maximum ideas of the few clubs whose financial position permitted an exchange, of cablegrams. The sion-ing-on fees demanded ranged from £*00 to £1000, and in addition prohibitive playing terms were asked, as well as a stipulation that remunerative employment was an essential apart from football salaries. Travelling expenses out and Home were also required. v A representative of a leading football \wganisation here declared that the demands were impossible, and he was glad that the embargo had been reimposed.
