County cricket, results are:—Yorkshire (308) beat Northants (50 and 198); Sussex (447) beat Glamorgan (86 and 91) ; Surrey (103, Howell seven wickets for 53 runs, and 190) beat Warwick (128, Fender seven for 34, and 120, Hitch five for 40). Middlesex, playing Hampshire, scored 552 for two wickets. Dales made 102, Lees' 107, Hearne 184 not out, and lieiidren 138 not out.
