MILITARY OPERATIONS
FUETHER DEMANDS BY THE BANDITS. (Received 26th May, 10 a.m.) PEKIN, 25th May. Pekin reports from the Lincliing area state that Government troops have begun an attack against the bandits to cut off. the latter's communications and to draw the surrounding cordon closer. The bandits have framed new terms, which virtually demand that the entire province of Shantung be put in the power of the bandits, that the troops should withdraw, and that the bandits be given army rankings.
