NEW YORK, 24th May. The J. P. Morgan Company announces that arrangements have been made with a group of American bankers to float in the United States 25.000,000 dollars of the 130,000,000 dollars Austrian bond issue guaranteed by members of the League of Nations.

In September and October, 1922, the League of Nations worked out a scheme for the restoration of the Austrian finances within two years under the control of a High Commissioner appointed by the League; the Governments of Great Britain, France, Italy, and Czecho-Slovakia agreeing to guarantee four-fifths of a loan of 520,000,000 gold crowns (about £25,000,000), in order to fell the deficit in the Budget during the two years. Since the Armistice the British Government has advanced about £10,000,000 to the Republic.
