TRENTHAM RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION.

A general meeting was held in the I Soldiers' Club, Trentham, to confirm or '< amend the proposed constitution and rules of the Trentham, Heretaunga, and Silverstream Ratepayers' Association, and to elect an executive committee for the ensuing year. About seventy rate- . payers were present, and Mr. J. K. I Johnston was elected chairman. I

The constitution and rules were adopted, with slight amendments. The following committee was elected :—Messrs. E. Simpson, J. Jackson, T. R. Jameson, J. Howell, W. 0. Thomas (Trentham), J. K. Johnston, J. Shout, T. Milligan, W. A. Chappell, J. W. Scott (Heretaunga), Captain F. H. S. King, C. H. Ritzenm, J. Andrews, C. H. Fyffe, and W. R. Langdon (Silverstream).

Subscriptions from forty members were then received.

Captain King was unanimously elected chairman, and Messrs. Jameson and Thomas were appointed hon. secretary and hon. treasurer respectively.

Accounts amounting to £3 8s 6d were passed for payment. It was decided to have 250 copies of the rules printed in the form of a membership card, and to hold a meeting in the Social Hall, Silverstream, at 7.30 p.m. on the 31st inst., to draw up a programme of activities.
