TAITA AFFAIRS
The second monthly meeting of the Taita District Ratepayers' and Progressive Association, held on Tuesday night, was well attended. Mr. Futter (president) presided. .
The condition of the roads came in. for a great deal of discussion, and it was decided that the Hutt County Council be asked to receive a deputation on the subject. . . . The matter of arranging for lectures of interest to residents of the district was reported to be well in hand, and the hope was expressed that the first of a series would be delivered next month. It was decided to hold debates at suitable times, the subject of the first being: "That it jh advisable to form a Town Board in this district."
