SOCCER CONTROL
MEETING OF WELLINGTON EXECUTIVE
The weekly meeting of the executive of the Wellington Football Association was held last evening, Mr. A. E. Wells presiding. The Thistle Club drew attention to the fact that the referees appointed to take charge of the two games played by the junior Thistle team failed to attend, and spectators had officiated. The club I added that it was not blaming the Referees' Association in any way, as it was well aware of the handicap the Referees' Association was working- under. The matter was referred to the Referees' Association. Bermission was granted T. J. Dwyer to enter a team in the seventh B competition, to be known as the Midland team. A request from the Brooklyn Club for complaining of the state of the Seatoun serve on the 4th June was referred to the Reserves Committee. Mr. W. Auld wrote to the committee complaining of the state of the Seatoun football playingj area, which, he said, was not marked out in any way, making it difficult for the referee to control the game. Last Saturday, ha stated, the dressing sheds were locked up, which resulted in 4+ players having to undress and dres« in the open. In connection with the latter statement, it was decided to forward the letter to the City Council. In connection with the Chatham Cup competition, it was decided to convene a general meeting of delegates, when the rules governing the competition and also proposals submitted by the South Wellington Club regarding alteration in the registration of players are to be discussed. The resignation of Mr. J. Blair from the Executive Committee was recei-ved.
