Residents of Otaki have decided to erect a war memorial in memory of soldiers from Otaki. The memorial will be an obelisk of grey Scotch granite, 14ft in height. The names of those who died and of returned men will find a place on the memorial. Mrs. M'Beath has donated £100, and Mr. J..P. Brandon £25 towards the cost.
Messrs. Vine - and Wilson will sell household furniture, paintings, etc., at 2 p.m. to-morrow, in their auction rooms, Dominion avenue.
