BOYS' CLUB
ESTABLISHED AT SEATOUN.
At a well-attended meeting held at Seatoun School this week, it was unanimously decided to start a boys' club, under the supervision of the school committee, who believe it will fill a longfelt want in the district.
Its purpose is to provide amusement, physical exercise,' and educational help to the boys. Ping pong, quoits, dominoes, draughts, chess, bull-board, boxing, skipping, gymnastics, debates, lectures, readings, etc., have been suggested, and a beginning will be made with some of these.
An appeal has been made to the residents of Seatoun and district to help with finance, advice, and where possible personal assistance. The club has arranged to meet every Friday, starting 11th May, at 7.30 p.m., at the school.
Officers for the first year are as follow :—Patron, Mr. A. Smith; president, Mr. W. H. Hewitt; vice-presideuts, Messrs. B. Anderson, E. Kellow, R. Jack, H. C. Bristow, B. F. Gardiner, J. C. Murray, P. A. F. Watson, C. Webb, H." Yeoman, J. Brodie, A. W. Parton, W. Murie, F. Hunt, P. Myers, H. J. Wyatt, Captain Chudleigh; committee, Messrs. A. Henderson (chairman), J. Wyatt, M. Luxford, K. Brodie, V. Hoist, T. Hull; treasurer, Mr. H. C. Bristow; club captain, Mr. R. P. Kennedy; vice-captain, Mr. J. Wyatt; secretary, Mr. Astley.
