The Right Hon. W. F. Massey returned to Wellington from Auckland today.

Captain Edwin T. Pollock, Governor of American Samoa, left for Auckland by the Main Trunk express yesterday.

Commodore Hotham, of H.M.S. Chatham, left for Auckland by the midday express yesterday.

Jlr. John FVaser, General Manager of the New Zealand Meat Producers Board, left for London via the South American meat exporting countries, on a visit of inspection into "the frozen meat trade generally.

The late Mr. Ronald E. H. Craig, son of Mr. James Craig, of Molesworth street, who died on Sunder, at the age of 20 years, was a man of retiring arid studious habits. As a boy at Welling-1 ton College he became infceresied in meteorology, and on his holidays found his way to the Meteorological Observatory. There He made himself useful, and in time qualified himself as an observer. He was able fo undertake Sunday and holiday duty, which saved the small staff of the Meteorological Office long journeys. His reliability and carefulness were much appreciated, and he will be much missed at the place where he took records which will be used in the years to come. He was ako a Sunday school teacher at St. Paul's. The funeral took place this afternoon from St. Paul's Cathedral, the interment being made at Bolton Street Cemetery- The Yen. Archdeacon Johnson officiated at the church, and the graveside.
