PARAMOUNT AND ARTCRAFT.
The star feature at the Paramount and Artcraft Theatres to-day is "The Fast Mail," in which Charles Jones, the famous cowboy rider, is the leading character. He is supported by Eileen Percy, James Martin, William Steele, Adolph Menjou, and Harry Dunkinaon. The plot is wound round the blowing up of a ferry steamer, a horse race ovor big fences, a thrilling forest fire, and a jump from a railway express in motion. The picture opens with the running of the Dixieland Steeplechase, the winning of which means much to a young couple who are verging on love. The race is lost to the lovers and won by the horse of a dissipated gambler who only wins by causing his opponent's horse to fall. Then follows a shooting by an unknown assailant, which is followed by the stern chase half round the wold, in which all sorts of adventures eventuate. Barbara Bedford plays the leading role in " Winning with Wits," which is the supporting picture. The remaining pictures are excellent, and include a comedy and News Special. Suitable music, in keeping with the programme, is played at both theatre*:,
