AMATEUR ATHLETICS
The Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association met last evening, members present being: Messrs. A.. T. Davies (chairman), M. Burnett, F. Wilton, B. A. Guise, and F. Campbell. A report was made that an application had. been forwarded to the executive of I the Amateur Athletic Union of Austra- | lia and New Zealand "for a mail vote on New Zealand's proposal to reduce the size of the teams for the Australasian cross-country championßMps. In connection with the election of delegates to the New Zealand Olympic ] Council, the chairman expressed the ' opinion that the term of office should be two years. It waa a mistake, he considered, to make changes annually. The meeting authorised the chairman to propose to the Olympic Council the biennial system of election. The resignation of Mr. J. T. Watson, as a representative of the West Coast , (North Island) centre, was accepted with ; regret. An application by William Stanley Coppin for reinstatement was j granted.
