RUGBY REFEREES
The Wellington Rugby Referees' Association held its weekly meeting in the V.M.C.A. rooms last evening, Mr. A. E. Neilson presiding over a fair attendance of members. Mr. A. W. Sherwood was unanimously elected a member of the association, and Mr. J. Scott, of the Wairarapa Referees' Association, waa received on transfer.
Various members made complaints regarding the action of certain coaches in standing on the touch-line during the progress of matches and making offensive remarks about the referees or acting unfairly in other ways.
The question of procuring a more suitable meeting-room, which was necessary on account of the increasing attendance of members, was left to the executive.
"Scrum Work" was the subject of a brief discussion, introduced by Mr. T. A. Fletcher. It is proposed to continue the discussion at the next meeting.
