WATERSIDERS JUST BEAT MARIST
The feature of the egcojid series of Association football matches played on Satui'day was the sound defeat of the V.M.C.A. eleven by Hospital. Th 6 improvement of the latter team since last season hae been greater than most enthusiasts imagined, and eyeD at this early stage of the competition their chance of winning.championship honours this season must be considered very bright. Watersiders, last year's winners, were hard put to it to Becure a win against Marist, and there was no score until the last five minutee. Diamonds defeated Karori by one KOal to nil, after a .rather scrappy game at Association Park, where a high southerly wind made conditions very unfavourable. Weigasco improved since last Saturday, playfid a drawn game againsl Thistle, last year's cup finalists. Results at a glance are as follow :— A DIVISION.' Hospital 5, V.M.C.A. 2.
