NORTH V. SOUTH MATCH
i INVERCARGILL, 16th April. At a meeting of the Southland Rugby Union last evening it was decided to make strong representations at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Union to have the North-South Island match played at InvercargiU. The chairman said they could run the match and make a handsome profit. In support of his contention he said that he understood Wellington was the only province that beat Southland in the takings of the pringbok matches. He estimated that they could take in the vicinity of £1000 if the match were given to Southland. Southland, he added, had a record the New Zealand Union could hardly overlook, and delegates should press etronffly Southland's claims.
