At Chicago heavy buying, following statements of a serious crop shortage throughout the country, forced wheat priceß to the highest levels of the year. July wheat sold at, 124£ cents, and the September delivery at 122&. Crop conditions in the southwest and north-west are reported to be alarming, owing to the bad weather and the shortage of labour.
