MAJORITY IN FAVOUR
LONDON, 14th April. The "Daily Telegraph's" lobbyist states that,' while Cabinet has not reached a decision on the betting tax, the majority of Ministers definitely favourthe scheme. Mr. , Stanley Baldwin (Chancellor of the Exchequer) will probably announce that the tax will be levied, provided the inquiry- confirms the Customs view that the ■ impost is practicable, and that the yield will be substantial.
