THORNDON METHODIST CHURCH
The Rev. C. C. Harrison presided over a large attendance of circuit officials of the ,Thbvndon Methodist Church at the quarterly meeting, held at Northland on Saturday, The membership returns were reported to be the same as last quarter. The circuit finances weru shown to be satisfactory, with a small credit balance to carry forward. Arrangements were made to ensure a successfull appeal on behalf of the Overseas Missions, and Mr. T. Brown was appointed circuit mission secretary. A concise report respecting the Sunday School and Young Peoples' Societies was given to the meeting 1, and showed that much detail work had been done towards the children!s year programme. The jubilee celebrations of the Molesworth Street Church are now being held, and the Rev. J. J. Lewis, who ministered at that church 49 years ago, is assisting in the celebrations. The heartiest congratulations of the members of the meeting- were extended to the Rev. Mr. Lewis.
