THE JUMPER DOOMED
■ "Old styles for new" seems to he the keynote of fashion's latest decree, perhaps' dne to King Tutankhamen's influence, though Russia and the Italian Fascisti also inspire says a London message to the Sydney "Sun." The outstanding feature, according to Paris correspondents, is that jumpers are doomed to be supplanted by a "divinity costume," which heralds a return to the oldfasioned blouse and the coat and skirt. The blouse will be made in heraldic fashion. The over-jacket will hang loosely like an artist's smock or a smokirigjacket. Petticoats also will return to favour—not frilled- like in Victorian days, but soft, clinging, fragile, and scolloped and in jazz colours.
