NEVER MORE HOPEFUL
GOVERNMENT GRIPS SITUATION. LONDON, 12th April. The "Daily Express" correspondent in Dublin says: "Ireland 'was never more hopeful than now. THe Government forces are obtaining a stronger grip of the country, and crime and lawlessness are being suppressed relentlessly. "The most significant indication of the country's new condition is the fact that President Cosgrave spent the last two days at the ra^es, accompanied by Mr. Tim Healy, the Governor-General. Such a dangerous proceeding would not have been, thought of a few weeks ago."
