At an inquest on Lawrence Edward I'ilbeam, a four-year-old adopted child, wliioTl Jie3 in hospital, evidence was given that it drank a Email quantity of schnapps left in a glass accidentally. Medical and an analyst's evidence showed that a tablespoonful of schnapps would have caused the condition described. The Coroner said he cast no reflection on tlie foster-parents, but the case emphasised the need for care in keeping things out of the way of chil- . dren.
