ADEQUATE PLAYING GROUNDS
One of the most important branches of civic activity is the maintenance of city reserves and making provision for adequate playing grounds. The configuration of Wellington makes the question o£ more than ordinary interest to this city,'as very few areas naturally adapted to the purpose are available, and sports grounds have to be made in some cases with considerable difficulty. It is necessary, therefore, to see that a strong public feeling is maintained in support of the expenditure which is necessary in the maintenance and the formation of the grounds required for the recreation of our citizens. In order that sports bodies may have an opportunity of stating their requirements, a meeting has been called by the Sporte Protection League, to be held at the Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday next, at 8 p.m. Mr. C. P. Skerrett, K.C., will act as chairman of the meeting.
