FORESTRY LEAGUE ' CURIOUS.

The Wellington branch of the New Zealand Forestry League, at a meeting held last evening, decided that each candidate for civic honours be written .to with a questionnaire and asked to forward a reply at an early date to the secretary of the league. The questionnaire is to be in the following terms: — (1) Are you prepared to support a vigorous policy, for the afforestation of tne Town Belt and other bare areas within the city? (2) will you-resist encroachment on public reserves? (3) are you prepared to support the acquisition by the city of such portions of Native bush that lie within the city boundary, e.g., Kaiwarra Gorge? (4) are you prepared ■:-to l support the acquisition by the city of the bush-clad lands lying to the eastward of Williams Park, so as to secure to the citizens of Wellington for all time a": forest recreation ground adequate in extent to the future heeds of the city? , .;•.'..
