WIN FOR MURIHIKU.
EYNIN FINISHES FOURTH.
A Press Association message received from Auckland this afternoon announces that the second race for the Sanders Cup was won by the Southland boat Murihiku, Rona (Auckland)" being second, Linnet (Canterbury), third, Eynin, (Wellington) fourth, and Winifred (Otago) fifth. The course was sailed :in N2lir 25min.
The' race started at 11 o'clock, over an arranged course. The wind was light, blowing from the north-east. Murihiku held the wind better than Rona, and took the lead, but Eynin soon closed up on Rona. As the boats turned for the last lead for the turning point Rona was ahead, Winifred being second, Eynin third, and Murihiku fourth. Linnet was well behind. Rona turned 20 seconds before Winifred, and 78 seconds before Murihiku, Eynin being six seconds behind the Southland boat. Rona's lead was being reduced tiJl going to windward she held her own again. She rounded the mark 21sec ahead of Murihiku, and 2min lOsec before Linnet. Eynin completed the first round lmin 34sec later, Winifred being 4min 2sec behind her. In the second' round Rona lost her advantage by talcing a different course from the others, Murihiku taking the lead by one: minute, which Rona reduced by half a minute in the run home.- Murihiku fin-' ished first, Rona second, -Linnet third; and Eynin fourth. ;
