It was announced lasj, November that the United States Lawn Tennis Association was considering a hew plan for the Davis Cup matches this year, by which the contestants would be divided into European and Pacific zones. Japan; Austialasia, PhiHpp//es, Hawaii, and Western Hemisphere countries would cotae under the Pacific zone and the preliminary matches between the latter would be held at Honolulu. ... Japan and Australasia expressed their approval and willingness to play at 'Honolulu. ..'.■
