WATER SUPPLY
IMPROVEMENT IN THE CITY.
In view of the heavy rains that have been experienced daring the past fortnight the city water supply has considerably benefited, and the restriction has been removed from the use of hose for gardens. The Mayor (Mr. K. A. Wright, Si. P.) stated this morning that householder.j must realise that this removal only affected those who had water meters attached to their water supply. In the case of those promises without meters the use of water through a hose was not permitted at any time,-whether the water supply was good ov' otherwise. This was governed by the bylaws, and no ono had any. permission to grant the right to use a hose where there was no meter on the premises. The reservoir at Waimii-o-mata, is now overflowing.
