MODERATE LEAGUE
The executive of the New Zealand Mod;fate.League met in Wellington yesterday. Mr. D. M.Fiidlay presided, and there were also present Messrs. J. H. Owen, F. H. Brcdrick, W. Perry, J.B. Harcourt, J. F. Atkins, C. J. M'Carthy,. R, A. Armstrong, and the Rev. Wyndham Heathcote. The necessary authority was. granted for the formation of a number ot district branches,, and it was decided that the president should be authorised to convene a conference of branches ■ for the purpose of bringing before the authorities the league's proposals for the amendment of the Licensing Act. The conference is to be called as' soon as the political situation is detiued by the meeting of *'"■■ liument.
