VISIT TO WATERWORKS
TOURS OF INSPECTION.
Several members of'the Mission were the guests of the Wellington City Council on Saturday afternoon, and paid a visit to the new tunnelling, works ao Orongorongo and' Wainui-o-mata. ■ The members to make the trip were' Governor Guyon, Conte -de Vitry,.. M. Petreqiiin, M. Chauvel, Lieutenant Neigel, and Lieutenant Pigelet.. The party also included 'the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Wright), Mr. R. Tait ■•'(Acting-Town Clerk), 'Councillor Mrs. M'Vicar, and Councillors T-~ Forsyth, Chapman, 1 J. Burns, with their wives, Mr. J. W. Collins (secretary 'to the Department of Industries and Commerce), Mrs. Collins, and others. The party had an enjoyable time amidst the. Beautiful bush, and appreciated the fine view of Wellington and the. harbour from the summit of the hill. The Orongorongo tunnelling works were inspected; Mr. P. C. Webb gave a de-, monstration of the ( water-drill at work, and Mr. Robert Sample explained othermatters connected with the work. Governor Guyon was particularly .interested in the co-operative method of doing the work. Each member of the party tried his hand on the water-drill, and ' samples of the work were taken.
