BANKS PENINSULA BRIDGES.
OHRISTCHURCH, This' Day.

Discolouration of grain has occurred in districts where the rain has # been heaviest, but the farmers general-* ly are hopeful that the damage will be limited to what has so far been ,done. A lot of oats has already sprouted, and it is certain that the supply of bright oaten chaff will be affected.
