The "Sundayj Express" state's "'that, France has decided most strongly to urge Britain to recognise the necessity of placing an embargo on the export of British coal to unoccupied Germany, "fiarge 1 orders for British coal continue to be re-. ceived from Germany, distributed over the Yorkshire coalfields. Payment is made from German balanoes in London and\New York, which the 'Express" estimates at £300,000,000. • It is unlikely that Britain will accede to the French demand) vh.ich woiild check the nascent revival* of the coal industry.
