MOTHES SHIELD

TO-DAY'S REGATTA,

The first of two regattas to'- decide who shall hold the Mothes Shield is taking place on the Wellington side of the harbour this afternoon. The Mothes Shield was presented by Mr.' Mojfigs, of Petone, for local interclub competition, and to-day, crews representing the Petone, Star, and Wellington clubs are participating in the event. A lengthy programme of races has been provided, and, with favourable weather conditions, some excellent racing is expected.
