EMPIRE EXHIBITION
VOTE OF £100,000 SUGGESTED. (II TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCI4TKM.) WHAKA.TANE, This Day. Major Belcher and party, who are organising the Empire Exhibition, arrived at Whakatane yesterday, and were entertained at a public function last evening. Major Belcher gave , a highly interesting addxess on the development of primary products, and on aspects of the exhibition as a means of advertising such products. The meeting passed a motion urging upon the Prime Minister the importance of seeing that the New Zealand pavilion at the exhibition should hb commensurate with resources and products of the Dominion. It was suggested' that £100,000 spread over three Budgets would bo a first-class investment for tho Dominion. The party toured the district in the morning, and arrive at Rotorua this afternoon. It then proceeds to Hamilton.
