NATURALISATION FEES.

Fees for the issue of naturalisation papers were recently raised by the Government of New Zealand to £10. In the House of Representatives yesterday, Dr. Thacker - (Christchurch East) stated that he had received a letter from the Danish Consul in Christchurch protesting against the increase.

The Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W.'Downie Stewart) said that the fees were raised, because it was found that those previously charged were much lower than the fees of Great Britain and other countries. If the increase were working hardship he would have the matter investigated. -i
