The executive of the Eastern Suburbs League met this week, Mr. A. C. Blake (president) occupying the chair.

A vote of> thanks was passed to Messrs. Bayfield and Turnbull, who conducted the deputation to the Police Department, for extra police protection. The Police Department notified for public information that urgent calls should be sent to telephone No. 20-252; the authorities also stated to the deputation that a police patrol in private clothes visits all districts at night time. A new site had been selected for a police station at Miramar.

Regarding boundaries, the Lyall Bay Association has asked the league to arrange for the formation of the Kilbirnie Association, and the league to suVisenuently define the boundaries between the Hataitai,1 Kilbirnie, Lyall Bay, and Molrose Associations. The question of holding the meeting for Kilbirnie residents was bald over, pending the reply from certain Kilbirnie residents.

In connection with the snfjjrested increase in telephone charges, the Civic League's attention will be drawn to this matter by the delegates of the Eastern Suburbs' League.

The Meirose and. Rosenesth delegates stated that the insurance rntes were hiftlier in these two districts than in any otiiPr district of Wellington.
