In connection with the visit of the Right Hon. Srinivasa Sastri, the reception that was to have been tendered by the V.M.C.A. on Thursday has been postponed until Sunday afternoon, when Mr. Sastri will address a public meeting, under the auspices of the association, in the Town Hall. Mr. Sastri will take as his subject: "Lidia To-day." The meeting will be open to the public, and the Mayor will presided Messrs. A. E. Carver and Co. will sell household furniture in their rooms, 137, Lambton-quay, to-morrow, at 2 p.m. On , Friday,, at 1 p-m., they will conduct a sale ,at No. 12, Aglionby-streol, Lower Hutt. The public speaking course being- promoted by dm V.M.C.A. will commence to-morrow night in the association's rooms, Willis-street. The class will be conducted by ■ two well-known solicitors, Messrs. 0. C. Mazengarb, M.A., LL.M.,' and H. 11. Cornish. M.A.. LL.M. All interested ore invited to the opening lecture .
