BANKING PARTNERSHIP.
The Prime Minister has not forgotten: the promise given two years ago to the taember for Timaru, that he would set* up a committee to go into banking matters in general, and the, partnership between the Bank of New Zealand and* the Government in particular. Mr. Craigie mentioned the subject in the House of Representatives yesterday^ when he wished to know whether the Government was in a position to appoint the committee this session. *The Prime Minister said it had not been' convene ient to set up the committee when the promise was made, or during last" session.. He was quite willing to complete his part of' the promise tht6 session, and, with that object in view, he would take an early opportunity of consulting: his colleagues.
