WASHINGTON, 10th July. f President Harding and Mr. Weeks, Secretary of War, held a consultation > regarding reports that -mails: were held up in various parte of the West owing to the strike of railwaymen in the United States. Marshals have been instructed to ptfotect the mails and further their despatch at all costs. NEW YORK, 10th July. It is reported from Point Marion, Pennsylvania, that two striking miners were killed and one badly wounded in pitched battles between the strikers and deputy sheriffs protecting mine property.
