CHARGES AGAINST GALBRAITH.

,-Hearing of evidence for the defence in the case in which Alexander Galbraith is charged with inciting violence in an address on "The Downfall of Capitalism," at the Communist Hall, Manners-street, on 4th' June last, was continued at the Magistrate's Court this afternoon. Mr. F. K. Hunt/S.M.,- was on the Bench, Mr. P. S. K. Macassey appeared for the drown, and'Mr. J. F. B. Steveneon for th> defence. George E v Wilkinson, the chairman of the meeting in question, said that there were not more than thirty-five present. '■ The meeting was of a very quiet nature, and there was no show of any excitement, or uprpar, either during the meeting or after. Witness described the lecture as a glance at history and an attempt to foretell the future or experiences of the past. Witness said that many of the phrases quoted by the detective were not used by the defendant at all. Mr. Galbraith emphasised the point that the working class should not use violence in securing its ends. Mr. Macassey: "I think you have been before the Court for selling seditious literature?"—" That's so." "Are you still selling that literature?" —No answer.
