COLD AND CHANGEABLE
A vary cold night was experienced in most parts of the country, although locally, the temperature on the grass was not lower that 31.5 degrees. Some! severe frosts occurred in different parts of both Islands. Tlie weather has been changeable, but fair to c-lcudy conditions predominated; and southerly winds have given place to variable breezes. The indications are for freshening easterlies northward of Kawhia and East Cape, andi variable winds with eoutherlies prevailing elsewhere. Cloudy to overcast conditions, with scattered rainfall, are likely in the Northern and East Coast districts of the North Island, and cold and changeable weather generally' elsewhere. Although the. barometer shows a rising tendency, it is likely to be unsteady in the north owing to the presence of a depression to the north-west of the Dominion. ' ■ .'
