SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
STILL A CLOSE CONTEST
VARIOUS MATTERS DISCUSSED,
(By "Sticks.") . The position of the teams in the senioti championship is as follows:—
Ramblers, who were ' level .with Hutt and Wakatu last week, have gone down a stop on the ladder on account of their defeat by Hutt last Saturday. University are still two points in the lead, but their bye to:day will probably put them on a level with Hutt and, Wakatu. -University have the greater 1 number of goals, to their credit,; although Hutt's second of only eight goals scored against them is just as creditable. Wesley and Karorivhave each had 24 goals scored againstl them, and Huia, in six matches,' have only scored seven, goals. ■■ It, now looks pretty certain that' University, Hutt, and Wakatu will fight out the championship, and of the-three the writer favours University's chances, although it 'is recognised that Wakatu are a very hard team to beat. .-.-•' - . .
