SHEARERS' DISPUTE
OWNERS' TERMS NOT ACCEPTABLE. A conference wasMield to-day between representatives of the sheep-owners and the shearers, and closed without any agreement being arrived at. The shearers' representatives declined to entertain the offer made to them. The sheep-owners' offer was as follows:—Shearing flock sheep, £1 per 100; shearing lambs, 17s 6d per 100; all bonuses to be abolished; pressers, £2 10s pei- week or Is 5d per hour; other shed hands, £2 Ss per week, or Is 4d per hour; youths under 18, 35s per week, or Is per hour.
