BIG SOCCER
SECOND TEST MATCH.
Final arrangements for the second Soccer Test, Australia v. New Zealand, at Athletic Park on Saturday next, were made last evening. Given a fine day, a record, crowd for Australasia is expected. Dunedin, with an attendance of over 10,000 at the first Test match on Saturday last, at present holds that honour. Tho box plan, which is at N. Perry's, Manners-street, is rapidly tilling up, and thoso wishing to securo reserved seats are advised to make early application. Day sale tickets are obtainable at all leading tobacconists, also from tho Sports Depot, Willis-street. Tho .purchase of these tickets will greatly facilitate tho working' of tho turnstiles, and will ensure the holder of a quick entrance on arrival at Athletic Park. Special entrances will be marked for admission by these tickets.
To assist the traffic arrangements, the Wellington Retail Association have been asked to close, their premises at 12 o'clock. ;
Tho gates will be opened at 12.15, and the senior Rugby game, 'Varsity v. Athletic, commences at 1.15 sharp. The New Zealand team are all fit and well, and look forward to giving. a better exhibition than at Dunedin, and are confident ot repeating their victory. The Australians feel'that the game'in Dunedin was not a true indication of their play, and with a little luck' the position might easily have been reversed. ' They are leaving no stone unturned to win here on Saturday. In meeting Canterbury yesterday they rested some of their stars, who were feeling the effects of the first Test. The game ought to prove tho finest exhibition of Association football ever seen in New Zealand, and should bo fast and open for the whole of the ninety minutes.
