, (AUSTRALIAN • NEW ZEALAND CAtLE ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, 16th June. Sir Henry Barwell (Premier of South Australia) told a correspondent that he found a need for the co-operation of BngliEh-speaking races to restore- the balance of the world. This, he said, had been widely recognised by Canada and the United States,- between which friendly feelings existed. It was possible to extend Canadian-Australian trade to the advantage of both countries. Australians bound for England should cross America, and Americans should visit Australia. Canada needs immigration, and the immigrants should come from England. , He complained of misquotations in the American newspapers. SYDNEY, 18th June. Speaking at the annual dance of the Commercial Travellers' Association, Major Belcher, head of the British Empire Exhibition mission, stressed Australia's urgent need for immigration, but ■ said that immigration must march hand-in-hand with the development of markets for the goods the immigrants could produce.
