BROOKLYN
The Brooklyn Harrier Club's weekly run was held on Saturday from St. Matthew's Schoolroom, Brooklyn. The 35 members present were divided into two packs, A. Barclay having charge of tha slow pack and D. Toad the fast pack. A very solid trail of between four miles and a-half and five miles was laid by W. Willis.and E. Oroll. It ledi from St. Matthew's Schoolroom down the gorges to Bevis's farm. There it took in a short piece of road, and then led back on to the hills overlooking Dupparfitreet Reserve. The paper then, kd along the top of the hills back to the starting point. C. Sherwood was the only man from the fast pack to catch, the slow pack. He Tan very well. A run-in of about 150 yards was held. In a good finish, L. Jones beat 11. Walls for first place by a yard, with Cooper a close1 third. Richards and Gillett were next to finish. The Cooke Cup race will be held from Hutt Park next Saturday. Big entries have been received, including J. M'Ki'nlay (who is well known on the track), A. Barclay (winner of the three mile handicap at the Springbok sports, and other distance events), Bruce (another track performer), and D. Todd (second in last year's New Zealand- cross-country championship).
