On 4iie occasion of Queen Mary's Birthday, the Governor-General, Lord Jellicoe, cabled as follows through the Secretary of State for the Colonies to Her Majesty:—"The Government and people of New Zealand join with me in tendering Your Majesty their respectful congratulations and good wishes on the occasion of Your Majesty's birthday." His Excellency has received a reply from the Queen's Private Secretary as follows:—"I am desired by Her Majesty the Queen to convey her sincere thanks for and keen appreciation of your loyal good jvishes."
